Alec Baldwin recently starred in Crescent City and in the TV series The Fruitties Are Back; Travis Fimmel worked on Operation Kandaharin the TV series Vikings – in the role of Ragnar Lothbrok – and Boy devours universe. The cast also includes Frances Fisher, who appeared in Desert Road and in the episodes of The Sinneras Meg Muldoon; Josh Hopkins, already seen in the episodes of Shrinking. It is directed by Joel Souza, who has already directed Crown Vic.
The production was in its 12th day of filming when the accident occurred that caused the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, in 2021. The director was also injured in the accident, caused by an accidental shot fired from a gun on scene, mistakenly loaded with live cartridges, handled by Baldwin. “I like writing about detective stories and cops and robbers – said the director, at the screening which took place at camerimage – I thought it would be interesting to approach a western through that filter”. Regarding replacing Hutchins with Bianca Cline, he said: “It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made (…) My goal was to preserve every possible frame of Halyna’s work. Making everything look exactly like his.” In July 2024, the charges against the actor were dismissed.

The production is by Rust Movie Productions, El Dorado Pictures, Cavalry Media. Filming began on October 6, 2021, at Bonanza Creek Ranch in Bonanza City, New Mexico, a ghost town located thirteen miles south of Santa Fe. The film is expected to be released in 2025.
