Time is money. Well, you don’t have to say that to Western Digital. The company has released a new external SSD and it is almost twice as fast compared to the outgoing one.
We are talking about the Western Digital external SSD from the My Passport series. The external hard drive has a read speed of 1050 MB / s and a write speed of up to 1000 MB / s. There will be two variants. One with 500 GB storage and one with 1 TB storage. The new Western Digital My Passport external hard drives are available in gray. Other colors (red, blue and gold) will follow later this year. This drive comes with 256-bit AES hardware encryption including password function.
With this external hard drive you have shock, vibration resistance and drop resistance up to a height of 1.98 meters. The disc is compatible with both Microsoft Windows as Apple Mac. It is also good to know that the SSD uses USB-C 3.2 Gen-2 as standard.
The Western Digital My Passport SSD costs 152.99 euros for the 500 GB variant and 245.99 euros for the variant with 1 TB storage. You have a five-year warranty on the external hard drive.
