Western and local journalists in Niger have been attacked while covering demonstrations amid a military uprising in the capital. SIA informs that “Reporters Without Borders” (RSF) released information about this.
While covering the march in support of the July 30 coup, “TV5 Monde” correspondent Anne-Fleur Lespiot and “Le Figaro” correspondent Stanislas Pouilles said they “received many verbal threats from demonstrators who aggressively opposed the participation of French journalists.” Two days ago, unknown persons attacked the journalists of the local television and radio broadcaster Anfani, who were covering the press conference of the presidential party “Party for Democracy and Socialism of Nigeria – Taraya”, and also damaged the camera of the “Bonferey” TV channel.
