Fallout 76 takes place in the US state of West Virginia. Since the game was presented, interest in this previously little-noticed state has increased. As a result, some West Virginia businesses are hoping for a wave of Fallout fans to visit.
West Virginia is the location of Fallout 76: To make the setting as authentic as possible, the developers have transferred many (but not all) locations from the real world into the game. Even local myths and monsters – like the Moth Man – are present in the game.
This attention delights the residents of real West Virginia. Especially since interest in their state suddenly skyrockets.

What’s so special about interest in West Virginia? The state of West Virginia is located in the mountainous region of the Appalachian Mountains and is rarely featured in the media. So there doesn’t seem to be much going on there. Tourism has also been limited so far.

But interest is probably changing right now. Because according to the local broadcaster WCHS, the number of visitors to the West Virginia Explorer tourist site has jumped from 2,000 to 30,000 after the Fallout 76 E3 trailer. So suddenly people are interested in the state!
Camden Park as a new tourist attraction?
Also in the center of attention: Camden Park amusement park. This fairground is arguably one of the more important West Virginia locations that is also featured in the game. The calls there have been increasing since the Fallout 76 hype. In addition, there are increasing requests for t-shirts from the park.
