West Jakarta KPAK Launches HIV/AIDS Survey to Increase Public Awareness

The West Jakarta City AIDS Prevention Commission (KPAK) in collaboration with the West Jakarta Communications, Informatics and Statistics Sub-Division (Suku Dinas Kominfotik) launched a study on HIV/AIDS in the Meeting Room of the Vice Mayor’s Office West Jakarta, Monday (7/7/2017). 10).

The Secretary of KPAK West Jakarta, Soekarno, said that this activity aims to increase public understanding of the disease and its stigma.

“We continue to do fieldwork in the area and collaborate with the West Jakarta Health Department to treat people suffering from HIV/AIDs,” he said.

Soekarno said, people who live or do daily activities in the West Jakarta area will participate in the survey with a minimum age criteria of 15 years, which will be conducted from October 7 to 25 October 2024. Time required to complete this survey is 5-10 minutes.

“We want to know where our weaknesses are in dealing with HIV/AIDS, so we can do better,” he said.

Amien Haji, Administrative and Human Welfare Assistant at the West Jakarta Regional Secretariat, explained the importance of cooperation in overcoming HIV/AIDS in the West Jakarta city area.

“I appreciate KPAK West Jakarta for this review. “We must pay attention to the stigma that exists in society and give a proper understanding of HIV/AIDS,” he explained.
