Jakarta –
West Ham United are having a hard time finding new players this summer. They have advertised for seven different positions.
West Ham are the only Premier League team yet to sign a player this summer, even though they have good cash after letting Declan Rice go to Arsenal for £105 million.
The Athletic reports manager David Moyes is eyeing a ‘local player’ or homegrown. That’s why this summer they have been linked with Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, James Ward-Prowse, to Conor Gallagher.
But so far no transfer has materialized, making relations between Moyes and West Ham technical director Tim Steidten reportedly heating up. The Hammers need additional new players because they will appear in four different events next season, including the Europa League.
West Ham has finally moved to advertise in TransferRoom, an online site commonly used to search for players and has been used by more than 600 clubs around the world. It’s just that, this step is very rarely done by a Premier League class club.
There, West Ham announced they were looking for a left-back, centre-back, defensive midfielder, central midfielder, striker, winger and playmaker. The Hammers have posted a £20 million budget for each position, but are also open to a loan option.
West Ham refused to be asked to confirm this matter. They are believed to be dizzy thinking about how to get new recruits according to expectations. They are in a race against time, because the new Premier League season will start next week.
The opponents they face are not easy. West Ham has had to meet Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Brighton & Hove Albion in the first six matches. If they don’t bring in new players soon, they are in danger of being battered.
Last season, West Ham won the Europa Conference League by beating Fiorentina in the final, as well as the club’s first title in 42 years. But they limped in the Premier League and only finished in 14th position.
