Mohammed Kudus is about to make the switch to West Ham United. The wing attacker has been coveted for some time by the London club, who are now prepared to press ahead. Tim Steidten, director of football affairs at the Hammers, flew to Bulgaria on Thursday evening to iron out the last wrinkles, reports Sky Sports.
If Ajax and West Ham come to an agreement, Steidten will fly back to London with Kudus for the medical examination. Then a five-year contract is ready for the Ghanaian with the option of an extra season. “There is still work to be done, but all parties intend to reach an agreement,” Sky Sports said. The deal is expected to be finalized soon.

On Wednesday it came out that West Ham and Ajax were approaching an agreement on a transfer from Kudus. The Hammers reportedly transfer a fixed amount of 41.5 million euros. The transfer fee can still increase by 3 million euros through bonuses, while Ajax retains ten percent of the transfer rights. This means that Kudus’ employment in Amsterdam will come to an end after three years.
Kudus was asked on Thursday after the end of Ludogorets – Ajax (1-4) whether he played his last match for the team from Amsterdam. “I think so. But we’ll see what happens in the next few days.” The transfer troubles do not have any negative influence on Kudus’ game. The left leg made a hat-trick. “I live from day to day. I’m here now and I’m doing my job on the field. Everything that needs to happen off the field takes care of itself.”
