West Ham ties and complicates a ticket to the Champions League | sports

West Ham’s feeble hope of qualifying for the Champions League hangs in the balance after the team required an agonizing goal from Said Benrahma to draw Brighton 1-1 in the Premier League.

The substitute scored his first goal for the club with three minutes remaining. With this he left the Hammers five points behind Chelsea, which is fourth, with two days left.

West Ham, which ranks sixth, looked doomed to suffer a painful defeat at Amex Stadium after Danny Welbeck scored his 50th Premier League goal to open the scoring just three minutes before the tie came.

The team led by David Moyes will face West Brom and Southampton to ensure that they will at least play the Europa League. Tottenham and Everton are on the prowl with three points behind.

Brighton remains 17th after signing their 14th draw of the season.

Leeds thrashed Burnley 4-0 on the road on Saturday and solidified their chances of finishing in the top 10 in the English Premier League.

Mateusz Klich, Jack Harrison and substitute Rodrigo with a double scored the goals.

Leeds are four points ahead of 11th Aston Villa, which faces Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Burnley had just beaten Fulham 2-0, thus ensuring their permanence in the Premier for the sixth consecutive season.

Leeds, who returned to the Premier this season after 16 years, visit Southampton on Tuesday.

Southampton beat already relegated Fulham 3-1 to take 13th place.

Burnley will host Liverpool on Wednesday.
