Days after signing Edson Álvarez, West Ham announced on Monday that it has signed James Ward-Prowse for the 2023-2024 season.
The English midfielder is a player with extensive experience in the Premier League and is considered one of the best set-piece players in the entire league.
After 12 years with Southampton, the recent relegation of The Saints seems definitive to end a period in which they managed to play 410 games and score 55 goals.
James usually plays in the same position as Álvarez and The Hammers have Tomas Soucek, Lucas Paquetá, Pablo Fornals and Conor Coventry; however, the Brazilian is expected to head to Manchester City in the coming days.
Announcement
The signing, which has been closed for around 30 million pounds and with a contract that runs until 2027, was communicated by the English team through its official social booking channels.

Edson and JWP are two of West Ham’s new hires to try to raise the egg left behind by Declan Rice’s departure to Arsenal and to be able to stand out in the Premier League, as well as a good performance in the UEFA Europa League after winning the Conference League in the past campaign.
