According to ‘The Athletic’, the agreement is complete between the two clubs and the center-back will play for the ‘hammers’ in London
After a stage at Manchester United marked by mistakes and controversy, Maguire leaves Old Trafford
He West Ham have reached an agreement to sign Manchester United defender Harry Maguirefor 30 million pounds, almost 35 million euros.
Según ‘The Athletic’, the London club had offered £30m for Maguireand that sum has now been accepted.
The David Moyes team are looking for defensive reinforcements after selling Declan Rice to Arsenal in a deal worth £105mwhile Maguire hopes to relaunch his career as a ‘hammer’ after a very controversial last stage under the orders of Erik ten Hag.
The 30-year-old centre-back made just 16 appearances in the Premier League last seasonwith Lisandro Martínez, Raphaël Varane and Victor Lindelof ahead as regards the center behind the ‘red devils’.
The England international was also relieved of the Manchester United captaincy earlier this summer, a decision that practically put him on the market.
‘The Athletic’ pointed out that Maguire, with a contract until 2025, hoped to stay at ‘ManU’ and fight for a place in the Old Trafford eleven, but England manager Gareth Southgate has indicated that a lack of minutes at United could affect his international career.
Maguire joined Manchester United from Leicester for £80m in the summer of 2019but the club was looking to shed players this summer after signing Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund.
