West Ham have made a ‘concrete’ approach to bringing former Barcelona, Everton and Watford star Gerard Deulofeu back to the Premier League as Liverpool’s interest in Jarrod Bowen continues.
West Ham are already putting plans in place for next season with reports suggesting they are weighing a move for Gerard Deulofeu.
According to Italian publication Calciomercato, the Spanish striker is attracting a concrete approach from the East London side ahead of the summer transfer window.
David Moyes’ side crashed out of the top six last season and the Hammers are firmly on course to achieve the same in the Premier League this term.
With the club also vying for Europa League glory, they are clearly interested in adding more quality to their ranks ahead of next season.
Deulofeu is a familiar face in England who has already proven his quality in the top flight.
Having made 75 appearances for Everton in two spells, the 27-year-old also enjoyed a two-and-a-half-year spell with Watford in which he reminded fans of his undoubted quality.
A tally of 17 goals and 11 assists took the Hornets to the FA Cup final, with Deulofeu grabbing the semi-final with Wolves by the neck by scoring a spectacular brace to send them into the main event against Manchester City, a game they lost. 6-0.
With Watford suffering relegation in 2020, Deulofeu was sold to Udinese, where the forward has impressed and has scored eight goals in Serie A this season.

That form has clearly tipped off Moyes to his services, and West Ham will almost certainly enter the market for more attacking options.
Andriy Yarmolenko could move on when his contract at London Stadium expires, while Liverpool’s interest in Jarrod Bowen could make Deulofeu a similar replacement.
Liverpool’s admiration for Bowen was explained by former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino, who compared the former Hull striker to Reds talisman Mohamed Salah.
