Ray Winstone asked Declan Rice to stay in West Ham and become a legend like the great Bobby Moore.
The actor and Hammers fan also asked his club to build a team around the 21-year-old midfielder, who first broke into West Ham in 2017.

Rice, who can also play center-back, has settled brilliantly in West Ham.
He earned the club’s Hammer of the Year award last season, while he also won the Young Player award in both 2016/17 and 2017/18.
His exhibits have seen him gain recognition elsewhere, with Gareth Southgate making him a regular on the England team, convincing Rice to switch his allegiance to the Republic of Ireland.
Given his string of excellent performances, it’s no wonder Rice has been linked to a departure from West Ham – Chelsea are reported to be the favorite to sign him if he leaves.
And while Winstone accepts that Rice is to some extent a big fish in a small pond in West Ham, he insists there will be rewards if he stays at London Stadium.
Moore was at West Ham for 16 years, including when he captained England to World Cup glory.
“Whatever the kid is there, it’s not enough,” Winstone said on Thursday’s talkSPORT Breakfast. “You want to keep that boy and build a team around him.
“If he stayed there, he would become another Bobby Moore. It would be a legend.
“It is a big fish in a small pond in a way, but there is no reason why the club cannot become a great club. If he goes to a team like Chelsea, he won’t necessarily play every week. “

Rice and company have had a decent start to the season, ranking eighth in the Premier League table.
And Winstone has been pleasantly surprised by West Ham’s results, especially after the sad loss at home to Newcastle on the opening weekend.
“I’ve had 63 seasons of this and after the first game against Newcastle I thought, ‘I can’t go through another year of this,'” Winstone added.
“I had a little moan about it on Instagram and even my daughters scolded me for it!

Winstone also praised the work of Hammers boss David Moyes.
But Moysey [David Moyes] he has done something very special. I’ve fallen in love with a couple of players, they love it.
“From that first game, to see the players enter the field with a smile on their faces, you know you have half the chance.
“It doesn’t matter to me if you don’t win… if the players are out there giving 100 percent, that means a lot to me. It’s not about going out and winning 1-0 ”.
