Kolkata. Violence erupted on Saturday following the alleged gang rape and murder of a Dalit girl in Kaliaganj in North Dinajpur district of West Bengal. There was a fierce clash between the local people and the police. Not only this, the police stopped BJP state chief Sukant Mazumdar and other leaders from entering the city. LOP Suvendu Adhikari claimed that BJP MLAs were not allowed to meet the victim’s family.

Here, the BJP has strongly attacked the Trinamool Congress (TMC)-led West Bengal government over the alleged gang rape and subsequent murder of a Dalit girl in Kaliaganj in Dinajpur district. Leader of Opposition (LoP) Shubhendu Adhikari alleged that the police did not allow the BJP MLAs to meet the victim’s family. He also accused the police of weakening the evidence.

Shubhendu Adhikari said in one of his tweets, ‘BJP MLAs were not allowed to meet the victim’s family and were taken to a police station. He was forced to sit there. Not only this, he has also accused the police of suppressing information and weakening the evidence.
