Investigating Team of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)NCP) check the Deputy Regent Bandung Barat Hengky Kurniawan as a witness in the continuation of the corruption case that dragged the Regent of West Bandung Aa Umbara.
Acting KPK Spokesperson, Ali Fikri said the summons was made to dig up information on procurement of goods for the emergency response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Today (27/7) a TPK examination related to the procurement of emergency response items for the Covid 19 Pandemic at the Social Service of the West Bandung Regency Government in 2020 for AUS witness on behalf of HENGKY KURNIAWAN (Vice Regent of West Bandung),” said Ali in his written statement, Tuesday (27/7).
Previously, investigators from the anti-corruption agency had examined several witnesses. The KPK questioned the Head of the West Bandung Regency Social Service (Kadinsos), Sri Dustirawati, on July 8. Sri was questioned regarding allegations that Aa had received money from an agency in the West Bandung Regency Government.
The guitarist for The Changcuters group, Arlanda Ghazali Langitan, was also questioned by the KPK regarding the flow of funds to Aa Umbara on Saturday (26/5).
Recently, the KPK also investigated Aa as a witness and suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of the Covid-19 social assistance package by KPK investigators yesterday, Monday (26/7). The KPK suspects that a number of cash flows have been disbursed by the project contractor to Aa.
Aa Umbara was the winner of the West Bandung Pilkada with Hengky Kurniawan, then he was inaugurated as the pair of regional heads for the period 2018-2023.
