Werner Kogler: “Yes, I made a very important assessment of climate adhesives”

Werner Kogler, leader of the Green Party, was the second guest at the ORF summer talks in Traunkirchen yesterday. Despite the occasional thunder, the conversation continued. led by Martin Thür, who took place outside. It was only late in the conversation, when it came to climate protection, that Kogler warmed up.

The trained economist did not feel comfortable with the first topic of health policy. Kogler tried to deny long waiting times for certain positions: “I can only say that the Ministry of Health is behind the expansion of the statutory health insurance doctor positions that were promised.” The Greens would have the Ministry of Health to take over as a torso. Without giving specific figures, Kogler said: “Everyone who deals with it confirms that the health system works well in international comparison. .” The colleague of the party Health Minister Johannes Rauch leads this process well. He accused the medical society – without being particularly specific – of many strange games.

In the wake of the foiled attacks at Taylor Swift’s concert, he went into detail about the evaluation of cell phone data. He reiterated the commitment made earlier to submit the current draft law for review – see page 3. Kogler said that an open society must lead the conversation about stopping risk and interfering with private life. Kogler was not quite right when he spoke of house rules in Austria, which must be adhered to, in relation to the suspects. The suspects are Austrian citizens. Referring to migrants, Kogler pointed to a change in attitude among the Greens: early language acquisition is important.

At the end of the last generation of climate change, Kogler said it was about winning a majority, not a majority that bothered him. At first he understood the concern, “but yes, I made a very important evaluation of the climate adhesives.” It was only when regeneration and energy supply were discussed that Kogler found himself in his element. When asked about the Greens’ one-man efforts in government, he said: “We are a reliable partner of the people and we have shown our true colours.”

Regarding the Schilling case, Kogler said that the country was able to follow the EU candidate learning process. He called his own creations “murmurs and farts” unintelligent and has withdrawn them.

Kogler expressed the hope of being represented in the next government, but the ÖVP largely rules this; Kogler didn’t want to overemphasize that. This was recently rejected by ÖVP members in the ongoing government negotiations. If the Greens end up in opposition, Kogler could also consider the role of club chairman.
