“We’re starting to get mentally tired,” said the volunteer of the Wild Bird Hospital

Hella Horváth, one of the volunteers of the Vadmadárkórház in Sukoro, shared what they are going through on the hospital’s social media page. As he writes, a problem that has existed for years now is that many visitors do not respect the visiting time and its limitations. He is not interested in the peace of the animals, but in being able to see them when and where he wants. At least, according to Hella, this is the situation and she was not afraid to voice her opinion and feelings – Brenda Déri writes on our companion website, feol.hu-n.

“We are getting mentally tired at the Wild Bird Hospital.” For 27 years, we have been rescuing, curing, releasing birds back into nature and taking care of those who stay here, according to our voluntary commitment. We work with sick, injured or recovering wild birds that need rest. No matter how much we write it down, let’s say over the phone, it appears in the media that we are a hospital, not a zoo, so our visitation is severely limited. Many people do not respect this, in fact. They climb through the gate, ring the bell, shout and honk. Because they just came. They want to see the birds now. They’re getting it now. Nothing else matters but their own interests. And of course, there is not a single penny donation from them – he writes, then goes on to emphasize that they are trying to persevere for the birds and the supporters.

By the way, the post published a few years ago can be interpreted as a precursor to Hella’s post, in which the Wild Bird Hospital shows that someone scrawled obscene words on their “closed” sign because the person traveled 100 kilometers but could not enter.
