Next bad news for Werder Bremen: The day after the promotion contenders lost 3-2 against Holstein Kiel, Manuel Mbom tore the Achilles tendon in his left foot during training.
This was announced by the second division soccer team on Saturday. Midfielder Mbom (22) will be operated on and will be out for “a few months”.
Werder explained that Ömer Toprak and Christian Groß did part of the team training again for the first time on Saturday.
