Werder Bremen was on the verge of collapse on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM, but has miraculously escaped relegation to the Second Bundesliga. The national champion and cup winner in 2004 had to win against 1. FC Köln and did so with conviction: Davy Klaassen and his colleagues won no less than 6-1. Fortuna Düsseldorf lost at Union Berlin and became the child of the bill.
Werder Bremen was two points behind at number 16 and had a significantly less goal difference, but managed to bridge both differences.
