Shocking moment at Werder!
Top striker Marvin Ducksch (28) had to stop the training session on Wednesday afternoon. The goalscorer injured his right knee when he was shot and was then treated for minutes by physiotherapist Adis Lovic on the pitch.
While the other players continued training, Ducksch stalked towards the dressing room with his head hanging down. After all, coach Ole Werner gave the all-clear after the unit: “It’s nothing, as far as I know.”
The figures show how important the striker is for Werder: Ducksch is the top scorer this season with 16 goals.
It remains to be seen whether it is ultimately a worse injury and whether his mission against Nuremberg (1.30 p.m. / Sky) on Sunday is at risk.
Central defender Marco Friedl (24), on the other hand, gives the all-clear. The defense Ösi broke his nose in a duel with St. Pauli’s Jakov Medic. Friedl was on the training ground on Wednesday afternoon. But with a face mask to protect your nose. He was able to complete the unit without any visible problems. However, he did not contest header duels.
