Werder Bremen comes away empty-handed with Ante Crnac

With the departure of Dawid Kownacki, a place in the SV Werder Bremen squad has become vacant. In keeping with this, Ante Crnac, an interesting attacker, has recently been linked with the Green-Whites – but the Croatian will not be moving to Osterdeich (at least for the time being).

According to the two transfer experts Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio, Crnac is about to move to Norwich City, which has put together a transfer package worth eleven million euros. Even though SVW received around 30 million euros from investors earlier this year, it was clear that the Hanseatic League would not invest such a sum in a 20-year-old talent.

The fact that Crnac had aroused Bremen’s interest in principle was revealed by Peter Niemeyer himself. The SVW manager confirmed reports that he and squad planner Johannes Jahns had taken a close look at the striker during the match between Gornik Zabrze and RSK Rakow.

“Basically, we are trying to explore the market and examine all possibilities. It is very important to gain impressions. This trip was nothing more and nothing less,” said Niemeyer about the Bild.
