Wendy Holdener and her ex-boyfriend Nico Caprez met in 2010 at a Junior World Championships in Megève (F). Holdener’s brother was then in the national team and shared his room with Nico Caprez.
Around three months later at the Swiss championships in Hoch-Ybrig SZ, the two kissed for the first time – and that on the slopes. Wendy Holdener and Nico Caprez were a couple for nine years. But now the end: At the beginning of December, Holdener and Caprez split up, as the “Blick” reports.
Long-distance relationships were not easy
The 26-year-old top skier confirmed the love-off towards the newspaper. 28-year-old Nico Caprez has been abroad a lot and has been in London for an MBA since last August.
This long-distance relationship was “not that easy,” as Wendy Holdener told “Blick”. “There are various things that didn’t fit,” the 26-year-old continued. The two had separated peacefully, but they have little contact at the moment. Dealing with the “new situation” is “not yet easy,” as Holdener is quoted as saying. The skier has been single since December, there is currently no new man by her side.
The Schwyzerin doesn’t have much time to ponder: After a short break from racing, she continues in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (D). There, Wendy Holdener will contest a downhill and a Super-G on February 8 and 9, 2020. After three podium finishes this winter (giant slalom, slalom and combination), she would like to “demonstrate her progress in the fast disciplines”.
