Xiaoji has known the horse owner Wen Shouqiang (pictured) for many years. He is easy-going and has no airs. He is an old friend with the Mauritian jockey Tian Taian. Tian Taian and his wife Xaviere will go to Tai Po Tin Hou Temple to worship God and offer incense from time to time Every time Wen Shouqiang must prepare a few golden pigs and all sacrifices for him in advance, he is very enthusiastic.
Wen Shouqiang once raised “Famous Horse”, “Magnificent Legend” and “Fateful Man”, and now he has “Warrior Boy”, which is trained by Lu Jianwei. Man Shouqiang, who has worked with several outstanding horse trainers in Hong Kong, has a high opinion of everyone: “I have raised four horses in Hong Kong for the time being, and I have worked with John Choi, Lui Jianwei, Tony Kou and Fang Jiabo respectively. The process is very good. Happy, they are all very kind to me. This time I handed over the new horse to Lu Jianwei for training, mainly because my English is not very good, and Wei Ge is Chinese, so it will be easier for everyone to communicate. I think nearly two Ji Weige’s performance is like the protagonist in a martial arts novel. He has opened up the two veins of Ren and Du, and his skills have greatly improved. Many difficult-to-win horses can be trained by him to win. It is really admirable. It can be described as a late bloomer .”
In the past, Man Shouqiang spent a lot of money to buy the expensive “Magnificent Legend”, but with his growing experience in raising horses, and being inspired by the owner of the “Charming” series, Tang Yongqi, he understood that the performance of a horse is not necessarily proportional to its net worth. Therefore, the horse purchase policy has been adjusted, hoping to buy a yearling horse with potential at a reasonable price.
Man Shouqiang said: “I got ‘Warrior Boy’ at the yearling auction in New Zealand, and the price is reasonable. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gigi Tang, who taught me to try to bid for my favorite horse at the yearling auction. Ms. Tang I also introduced some New Zealand trainers to me who can do basic training for the horses, and I really appreciate her help.”
In addition, Wen Shouqiang also wanted to express his gratitude to Wei Ge: “The ‘Warrior Boy’ was running normally during the barrier test in New Zealand. When I asked Wei Ge if he would accept this horse, he agreed without saying a word. I haven’t seen the clips of the gate trials in other places. I really appreciate his trust. Wei Ge told me that high-quality horses can be ranked in the top class. In retrospect, what I said this time really made sense, and it tasted like a “big coincidence”!”
