In the beginning it was quite different. “I found dating very uncomfortable,” says Welmoed. Now she likes to meet new people. “And I enjoy spontaneous actions such as going on a date to Paris. Although I was very nervous beforehand, because what do you have to talk about for hours in the car with someone you don’t know well?” In the end, Welmoed experienced the date as ‘very nice’.
Sometimes the presenter misses it, the ‘cosy togetherness’ with someone. But on the other hand, she also likes it the way it is now.
The fact that Welmoed is more famous than the average Dutch person does not bother her during dating. “Fortunately not,” she says. She doesn’t like to be approached all the time when going out, or to have the feeling that she is being watched.
“I really don’t want to think about being as well known as Chantal Janzen and Linda de Mol,” she says. “That you can no longer be anonymous anywhere. I don’t necessarily have to always be in the picture, I also think it’s great to make things and eventually work more behind the scenes.”
