Film adaptation of the novel ‘Oskar und Lilli’ by Monika Helfer: When the Chechen refugee children Oskar, 8 and Lilli, 13 and their mother are caught by the police in Vienna, the mother tries to take her own life. The children are separated and sent to different foster families. The pair’s hope of seeing each other and their mother again is marked by the irrepressible power of love for one another, which tries to disarm every bureaucratic hurdle with passion and imagination. A bittersweet odyssey about the many ways in which you can perceive the world around you in order to survive.
