Customer data BRI Life allegedly leaked and sold to another party. Quoted from Reuters, it was mentioned in a post on the RaidForums web that an unnamed user admitted selling 460,000 documents collected from 2 million BRI Life customers for US$ 7,000.
The post also featured a 30-minute video displaying data such as bank account details, a copy of the identity card (KTP) and the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP).
Party BRI Life has spoken, BRI Life CEO Iwan Pasila revealed that the company is currently conducting an investigation regarding the matter.
“We are checking with the team and will provide an update after the investigation is complete,” Iwan said as quoted by Reuters on Tuesday (27/7/2021).
A cyber crime monitoring company, Hudson Rock, said they had found evidence showing that several computers belonging to BRI and BRI Life employees had been compromised.
“We identified a number of employees’ computers BRI Life and BRI which allegedly helped hackers to gain early access to the company,” he explained.
