Well-known nightclub stole light in Trujillo – News from Trujillo, La Libertad, Peru

In a quick unexpected operation, Hidrandina detected the theft of power in nightclubs located on Avenida Tupac Amaru in Trujillo, where power was cut off and the corresponding fine was issued.

It is about the restobar La Previa, which at the same time clandestinely benefited with energy two other places more dedicated to the sale of alcoholic beverages. An energy recovery was applied to this premises for the amount of S/60,000.00, in compliance with current regulations for the violation of supply conditions.

It must be taken into account that energy theft is a crime in which the subject makes illegal connections to the electrical network, manipulates and/or alters the measuring equipment or intervenes in the splicing connection in order to avoid the registration of the electricity meter. This crime has as a consequence everything from paying for the stolen energy, to imprisonment for the perpetrators.

Currently, Hidrandina has various criminal proceedings against bad users in the La Libertad, Cajamarca and Áncash regions. It has also intensified its operations to reduce this criminal offense, which also represents a serious risk of electrocution for the people who handle it and increases the possibility of short circuits and fires.

Likewise, the Police have the data of users who have committed this type of criminal offense and in case of recidivism, their situation will worsen, when they have to render an account before the courts of the Judiciary; in this sense, the jurisdictional instance will be severe in the application of the penal sanctions to which there would be place, taking into account the recidivism and other related crimes.
