CAPE CANAVERAL, KOMPAS.TV – The International Space Station population swelled to 11 astronauts on Saturday (24/4/2021) following the arrival of SpaceX’s third crew capsule in less than a year.
A recycled SpaceX space capsule carrying four astronauts arrived on the space station a day after launching from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
It’s the biggest crowd there in more than a decade.
All the astronauts – representing the US, Russia, Japan and France – made it into the photo shoot to congratulate their space agency leaders.
“In this difficult situation around the world, I believe you have brought courage and hope to all of us,” said Japan Space Agency President Hiroshi Yamakawa from his country’s aviation control center, referring to the global pandemic.
