Welcoming National Day, China Deploys 25 Fighter Jets to Taiwan Defense Zone

TAIPEI – Air Force Taiwan deployed aircraft on Friday (1/10/2021) to warn 25 Chinese aircraft that entered its air defense zone.

The statement was made by Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense in Taipei, on the same day that China marked the national day of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

China’s claimed Taiwan has been complaining for a year or more about repeated missions by the Chinese Air Force near the island of Taiwan.

China’s actions often take place in the southwest part of Taiwan’s air defense zone close to the Taipei-controlled Pratas Islands.

China’s latest mission involved 18 J-16 fighters and four Su-30s plus two nuclear-capable H-6 bombers and one anti-submarine aircraft,” the Taiwan Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Taiwan sent warplanes to warn Chinese planes, while missile systems were deployed to monitor them.
