Weird Terms That Made Everton Cancel Recruitment Bielsa

Liverpool

Everton got close Marcelo Bielsa to be a substitute Frank Lampardbut the Argentinian manager’s unusual request made the Toffees step back and look for alternatives.

Mirror reported, Everton owner Farhad Moshiri had a meeting with Bielsa, but it turned out that the 67-year-old coach only wanted to take charge of the first team after this season ended. He wants to coach the junior team first.

While Bielsa coached the Everton youth team, the first team was handed over to an interim coach. He suggested this because he considered that the current team did not match his playing pattern, so it would take a long time to adapt.

The terms Bielsa asked for seemed to imply he didn’t want to be burdened with the target of escaping relegation this season, while Everton wanted to get out of the red zone as soon as possible. Moshiri finally refused the unique coach’s request.

At this time, Everton turned their eyes to Sean Dyche. The 51-year-old coach is currently out of work after being sacked by Burnley in April 2022. He is considered to be the right person because he is used to fighting in the mid and bottom boards of the Premier League.

The inauguration of Dyche as the new coach of Everton seems to be a matter of time. Even so, he reportedly asked for a guaranteed long-term contract to make him comfortable carrying out this challenging task.

Everton are in 19th place in the Premier League standings with 15 points from 20 matches. Halfway through the season, they have only won three times and have swallowed 11 defeats.
