It looks like Mario Balotelli will make another transfer next summer. The 29-year-old striker has been playing in the Brescia shirt since this season, but after a year already stands for a departure from the current bottom line of Serie A. Brescia chairman Massimo Cellino is late in the program Qui Studio a Voi Stadio from TeleLombardia know that “Balotelli’s thoughts are no longer with his current employer”.
Earlier in the day, there was speculation in Italian media about Balotelli leaving Brescia. The flamboyant striker did not show up at a training on Tuesday, because of alleged abdominal complaints. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport Balotelli’s unannounced absence from the Brescia club management was a reason to start talks about the termination of his contract. “I’m trying to avoid a lawsuit and the Balotelli case has been pulled out of context because there is no football and people have nothing else to talk about,” Cellino said.
“He’s a weird guy, his thoughts are no longer with us and I assume he is leaving. That’s not necessarily different from what he’s done so far in his career, he’s a bit anarchistic. His contract (which runs until mid-2022, ed.) Will automatically terminate if we are relegated, so in all likelihood he will be transfer-free next summer, ”continues Brescia’s president. His club is currently the final stop in the Serie A and, in the event of a resumption, has to make up for nine points in twelve games to achieve enforcement. Recently, Balotelli’s name has been associated with Galatasaray and Vasco da Gama, among others.
“Our previous trainer Eugenio Corini cared about him, he allowed him to be late every now and then and do some workouts at a slow pace. We are disappointed, maybe he is. We didn’t bring in Balotelli as a PR stunt because we really believed he could make a significant contribution on the field. I thought he could create something new for himself in Brescia ”, Cellino concludes. Balotelli, who previously played for Internazionale, Manchester City, AC Milan, Liverpool, OGC Nice and Olympique Marseille in succession, has scored five goals in nineteen games this season on behalf of Brescia.
