Anyone who scrolls through picture galleries of events in Berlin is likely to come across presenter Lottie aka Visa Vie here and there. With a big smile on her face, the native of the capital poses in front of the cameras on the red carpet.
However, the popularity of “Weird Crimes” can no longer be quite so carefree. Her life changed overnight – and that because of one very specific thing: her corona infection.
Berliner Lottie is severely restricted in her everyday life
While other sick people can go back to everyday life without any symptoms after a few days, Lottie is still struggling with the effects and consequences of the infection years later. The 37-year-old suffers from Long Covid. And this fact limits their lives enormously. “I can’t do any sports at all. Not even yoga,” Lottie clarified in an interview with BERLIN LIVE.
If more exercise is required in one day, every step must be carefully considered. “When I am physically active, for example going for a walk, I have to plan a lot of time before and after to collect energy or recharge, but my battery is never completely full again,” the podcaster revealed to our editorial team. Compared to before, Lottie estimates her energy level to be just half of her original power.
Berlin podcaster emphasizes: “Everything is harder!”
“I also have to do everything slowly, I have the speed of an 80-year-old, because otherwise my body would immediately go on strike and I’d be lying flat for days afterwards. Everything is heavier, slower, more painful, everything is different than before, but I’m mostly used to it now,” explained Lottie aka Visa Vie. Facts that are difficult to imagine as an unaffected person. But you can do something to prevent more people from suffering.
More news:
“I think every person who experienced symptoms of a serious Long Covid illness for a day, with the prospect that this would remain a permanent condition 24/7, would think again whether this virus is really that clever now to treat it as if it were a small cold,” Lottie appealed to common sense in the conversation.
The media is hoping that the seriousness of the situation will be understood – regular ventilation, disinfection and wearing a mask in public spaces are enough to avoid endangering yourself and others.
