With this increase, total imports from Singapore to Indonesia reached US $ 706.5 million. Meanwhile, in September, it was recorded at US $ 619 million.
“The country of origin for Singapore’s imports saw an increase of US $ 87.5 million,” said Setianto, Deputy for Distribution and Service Statistics, on Monday (16/11/2020).
In total from January to October 2020, total imports originating from Singapore will be US $ 6.73 billion. This value decreased compared to the same period the previous year which was recorded at US $ 7.76 billion.
However, unfortunately there are goods that should not be imported from Singapore such as essential oils. As long as Indonesia is one of the largest essential oil producers in the world, if there is an import from Singapore it is very ‘miraculous’.
Apart from that, Indonesia also imports iron and steel from the Merlion Country, on the other hand, in the last few years, the national steel industry has not been absorbed by the market due to the swift supply of imported steel.
