The city of Weil am Rhein’s first virtual training exchange has been in great use since it went online in mid-September. So far, 29,000 hits have been recorded on the site. For the organizers, this is a clear sign that the offer for apprenticeships for 2021 will meet with great demand even in times of the Corona.

“We are happy that the first attempt at the fair in this format met with this response and that the effort to bring applicants and companies together was worthwhile,” emphasizes Christoph Braun, head of the human resources department at the city of Weil am Rhein. For his résumé, he not only refers to the number of clicks, but also to numerous personal feedback from users. In some application procedures, the candidates also referred to the online exchange. Nevertheless, Christoph Braun hopes that the training fair established in the region will be held again in the usual form next year. “The personal encounter is the recipe for success of this fair and cannot be compared with a virtual shop window,” said Braun.

The platform for those looking for training will be online at www.ausbildungsboerse.eu until the end of December.
