Event culture in the cinema
But that is only one part of the new event culture in the cinema. It also includes many other things that fall outside of the normal cinema program. In Weil am Rhein, in addition to the anime films for younger people and an “arthouse” series for people who love films that are a little off the mainstream, there is also a series for older people called “Senior Cinema” in collaboration with the group “Die Herbstzeitlosen”. What does that mean? – “Smaller film gems, something more ‘for the heart’,” explains Mühlberger.

A double night to mark the release of a new film, of which the first part is already available, is another special feature, as is the “Horror Sneak Preview” series, which has been running successfully for some time at the Rheincenter cinema. New releases, such as the film “Joker: Folie á Deux” with Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga at the beginning of October, are also given special attention.
