NEW YORK — New York City will have a new Wegmans Food Markets store in Manhattan and the company will begin hiring and training for more than 300 positions now.
The 82,000-square-foot supermarket will be located on Astor Place in Lower Manhattan on the lower levels of 770 Broadway at the corner of Astor Place and Lafayette Street.
The Astor Place team is currently accepting applications online for a variety of part-time openings in all store departments, from culinary roles to customer service representatives, including night shifts for food storage and production.
Hiring for full-time jobs began last fall and continues for select positions, including shift leaders, food service managers and cooks. The hiring of tellers will begin in July.

When does the store open?
The retail portion of the Wegmans Astor Place store is scheduled to open in Fall 2023 and will include a variety of takeout and prepared dining options. The Omakase restaurant will open in spring 2024. The Astor Place location will be its second in New York City after the Brooklyn store opened in 2019. In total, the store will employ more than 550 people, most of them which will be new to the company and hired locally.
