A special jury determined on Monday evening, September 25, which fairground attractions deserve a prize in 2023. Councilor Suzanne Winters, together with the fair team, presented the fair prizes at the fair café on Dries. This year, two attractions took home the audience award.
The Weerter fair prizes are divided into four categories: major entertainment, minor entertainment, exercise games and sales items. Criteria such as presentation, atmosphere, maintenance, lighting, sensation and music play a role in the assessment. It’s about the complete picture, which is why the jury visits the fair both during the day and in the evening.
The fair jury consists of representatives with diverse backgrounds. They all have one thing in common: they have the Weerter fair close to their hearts and take their task very seriously so that the quality of the fair is guaranteed. The audience award was also presented. Via the website www.kermisweert.nl the public was able to vote.
Weird fair
Last year, the Spark Tech Lab and the municipality of Weert have developed a project for the young creative people of the Weerter primary schools: Weird Kermis. The students developed and built their own fairground attraction in teams. Visitors to the fair could vote for their favorite design in the Kermis Weert pop-up store.

This year’s audience awards at the Weerter fair go to:

The public also greatly appreciated the Bootjesmolen (Nieuwe Markt), Cotton Candy (Nieuwe Markt) and the Camel Race (Kasteelplein).
