The low pressures are in line this week, which will result in a lot of changeable so-called “yo-yo weather”, the Meteorological Institute reported on X on Monday morning.
The meteorologists ask people to pay extra attention to the fact that mild weather and rain in some places will be followed by clear weather and freezing temperatures. This will particularly affect road conditions, especially in the morning as it may have frozen during the night.

Still slippery roads
The meteorologists also warn that there will still be a danger of ice and slippery roads in northern Trøndelag and southern Nordland on Tuesday morning, due to the combination of mild weather and rain that freezes to ice on the cold ground.
Mild weather, wind and rain have meant that a lot of snow has melted over the weekend. Stormwater and flooding have caused problems in several places on Monday.
Drivers are encouraged to take their time and drive according to the conditions.
Stormwater and floods are causing problems in several places in southern Norway today. The snow returns: Creates challenges
On Wednesday, there will be snow in the mountains in Western Norway and up to 25 centimeters of snow is expected within a day, the Meteorologists write on X.
This can create challenging driving conditions and reduced visibility as a consequence of snow drifts.
Increased risk of landslides in Western Norway
On Tuesday, up to five degrees of heat are reported in Bergen and up to seven on Wednesday.
– There is an increased risk of landslides in large parts of Vestland county, traffic operator at Vegtrafikksentralen Vest Marianne Hove informs Nettavisen at four o’clock on the night of Tuesday.
– Those who are going out for a drive should therefore take precautions with that in mind. You should also check the local traffic report before you leave home as many roads are closed, she adds.
Road traffic in Bergen and the surrounding area will as of now be as normal. It is mainly in the rural areas that people should look at the conditions.
– The heat can affect traffic, especially in inland areas with regard to ice falling on the roads from icicles that have accumulated along mountain walls, says Hove.
Several closed roads in the West
– Bearing in mind that there are many closed roads, there will be some major delays on Tuesday, says Hove.
While there was a steady storm over the weekend, the weather conditions affecting traffic are more spread out.
At four o’clock on Tuesday morning, all county roads were closed due to flooding, with the exception of E16 Filefjell, and national highway 52 Hemsedalsfjellet where there was a convoy.
– A new assessment of Westland traffic will be made during the morning, but we expect that the flooding problem will persist in several places beyond Tuesday.
Can challenge the traffic in Eastern Norway
Traffic operator at Vegtrafikksentralen Øst Øyvind Eik tells Nettavisen that the weather conditions have been unusually bad for traffic in Eastern Norway in recent days.
– The conditions are better today than yesterday, and hydroplaning is less of a problem on Tuesday as less rainfall has been reported, says Eik.
– People should be prepared that the rising temperature will cause another part of the snow to melt, which will cause water to become a challenge.
He encourages all motorists to drive according to the conditions, be aware of aquaplaning and check that the tires have a proper pattern to avoid aquaplaning.
He adds that you should be prepared for many slippery sections and keep a good distance.
According to Eik, people will mostly be able to drive as normal on the roads in Eastern Norway in the coming days, but the changing weather can quickly change this.
There are several closed roads in Østfold and Dovrefjell and are closed overnight until Tuesday, with strong winds, informs Vegtrafikksentralen at X.
Hardangervidda and Haukelifjellet are also closed. A new assessment will be made at nine o’clock on Tuesday morning.
All scheduled buses canceled in Østfold
Public transport runs largely as normal in Oslo and Akershus, but with some deviations, writes NTB.
On Tuesday, Ruter plans for normal operation, but several operators report damage to some of the buses as a result of the conditions on Monday.
– This is leading to a shortage of buses this morning, and some departures will therefore be cancelled. In addition, it is still slippery in some places, which affects the accessibility of some of the buses and leads to partial cancellations and delays on some bus departures, says Cathrine Myhren-Haugen, communications manager at Ruter.
Around 30 bus departures are canceled early Tuesday morning. The subway and the tram are running as normal.
In Østfold, however, all scheduled buses are canceled on Tuesday morning, according to Fredriksstad Blad.
