FABIÁN VENA AND EMILIA MAZER

It will be on Sunday 28 at 8:00 p.m. in the Jorge Echetpare main room

The House of Culture of our city has given the initial “stitch” in the return of face-to-face theater and, in addition to a local programming that is increasing with all the protocols provided by the government of the Province of Buenos Aires. On Sunday 28 at 20.00 he will present in his main hall “Jorge Echetpare”, one of the works that has received the most applause and awards during his time in the Cordoba mountains: “The test” by Jordi Vallejo, with performances by Fabián Vena, Emilia Mazer, Paula Morales and Alejandro Müller, directed by Vena It is the debut of the Catalan playwright Jordi Vallejo that shoots all his action from a simple personality test. A hundred thousand dollars right now or a million of the same coin in 10 years. Such is the dilemma posed in a psychological key by a powerful text, to the bone, which challenges the members of the two couples involved to exude contradictions, miseries and weak convictions in the framework of a well watered dinner. The work is an uncomfortable self-analysis while having a good time. Toni (Vena) is a “neat bourgeoisie” because although life went well for him and he amassed a fortune, he preserves his bond with his youthful friends: his ex-girlfriend Sandra (Emilia Mazer) and his buddy Héctor (Alejandro “Egg” Müller), married to each other after an arrangement of stars. He has invited them to his apartment to taste a $ 900 wine and a 300 can of caviar, which they are denied in a harmonious life but affected by the shadow of a mortgage. Sandra has a powerful father, she could work with him, but she is an idealist who runs an NGO and is determined to lead an alternative life to the one suggested by some mandates. There they carve vegetarianism, renewable energy and the romanticism that our well-being does not mean the labor exploitation of a child in Bangladesh. Héctor, for his part, is more pragmatic and expects his bar to rebound. Anyway, good “guinea pigs” for the personality test proposed in symposia and sessions by Berta (Paula Morales), Toni’s psychologist girlfriend who joins dinner a little later to unintentionally reveal the weak of the framework that supports the friendship that he maintains with Sandra and Héctor. Between the first glasses of red wine and the last bite of the central plate (the dessert spoon is not enough), El Test unleashes debates and cultivates a certain misanthropy, because Vallejo has no mercy with the four creatures that he has in this living room. It is that, depending on the case, they can be selfish, insecure, manipulative and calculating. Everything is resolved with skill and talent. And it ends up shaking the mental pendulum between the short and the long term as guiding axes of lives in which, from birth itself, we are already corrupted. A great work to open a theatrical season that feels hopeful and that, in that room, will begin with the presentation of “Monologues in door”, the Rafael Rivas show with Nazareth Gil, Lula Cardinale, Laura Palacio, Flor Ramunno and Constanza Acerbo ; will continue on April 16, 17 and 18 with the consecrated “Jettatore” by Gregorio de Laferrere, directed by Jorge Sharry and on May 1, 2, 7 and 8, “Mundo Apart (The Adventure of Man)” with authorship and Directed by Marcelo Saltal. Of course, the presence of Emilia Mazer in this city is welcome, since the excellent actress and director has a long-standing relationship with the local theater, having directed here “Scenes from the field”, her version of Chekhov’s “Uncle Vania” , in addition to having conducted numerous seminars. Tickets can be purchased at the entity’s secretary every day from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or by calling 411099
