Weekly Covid-19 Update: 25 New Cases in the Dominican Republic

In the last week, 25 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, according to the weekly report of the General Directorate of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health.

According to the data in the report, in said period 3,898 samples were processed, of which 2,476 correspond to tests applied to detect the virus and 1,422 correspond to follow-up tests.

With the confirmed cases in the last week, the number of people who have been infected rose to 660,986, of which 656,581 have recovered and 19 have the active virus.

The weekly positivity of the tests stood at 1.01 percent, while the accumulated positivity in the last four weeks is 0.36 percent.

For months no deaths of people with Covid-19Therefore, the death toll remains at 4,384, with a fatality rate of 0.66 percent and a mortality of 419.77 per million inhabitants.

Regarding the risk groups, the report shows that of the total number of people who have died with this disease, 24.60 percent had hypertension and 15.89 percent had diabetes. Since the start of the pandemic 5,396 health workers have been infected, as well as 3,730 pregnant women and 83,901 children under 20 years of age.

Currently there are no people entered with Covid-19.
