Willem II temporarily takes over the leading position in the Kitchen Champion Division from Roda JC, which will only play against FC Groningen on Sunday. The Tilburg team had a difficult time beating Jong FC Utrecht on their own field: 2-1.

Last Monday, Willem II lost for the first time under Belgian coach Peter Maes, who won his first seven games in the Netherlands. After the defeat against Jong Ajax (1-0), another promising team awaited on Friday evening: Jong FC Utrecht.

Once again, Maes’ team struggled to score against the youngsters, who even took the lead in the King Willem II Stadium thanks to a goal from Nazjir Held. Willem II equalized halfway through the second half. Substitute Max Svensson scored to make it 1-1.
