Temperatures in our area are beginning to drop and a little more rain, but above all colder, is expected this weekend.
Although it seems to have rained almost every weekend lately, this will be the sixth consecutive weekend of rain in Central Park, the forecast is improving and the next round of rain will not be as heavy, allowing for more fall enjoyment outdoors . See some activities here.
However, due to that cloudiness, people may not be able to see the solar eclipse this Saturday. But here are some events that will take place in our area.
What will the forecast be like for the rest of the week?
A streak of bad weather has already hit the region during the first few weekends of the season, and this weekend will be no different. So what about the rest of the week before then?
The next two days seem pretty uneventful. Fall temperatures have really settled into the area and our mornings should start off chilly ahead of the seasonal afternoons.
Cloud cover increases on Friday and the weather will be cooler, but should remain dry.
Then by Saturday things get worse as the weekend’s run of bad luck continues.
After a dry start on Saturday, rain arrives during the afternoon, although the timing of its arrival is still not entirely clear. The rain will last all night, although it will not be as intense as previously thought and will not cause a high impact event.
Periods of rain are expected to bring an inch or less of rain to much of the tri-state area early next week, although some areas on eastern Long Island and along the New Jersey shore could receive up to two inches. Flood concerns have eased somewhat as high-level totals appear lower.
Some light showers could persist into Sunday morning, but will slowly taper off by the afternoon. Temperatures remain cool, with a gusty, cold wind remaining in the 50s.
Once things dry, they surely cool down. Expect next week’s temperatures to remain stuck in the 50s, nearly 10 degrees below average, until at least Thursday. And there is another low pressure system coming to our region on Tuesday, bringing more rain to the area.
