Only a few departments are classified in orange in the direction of departures, especially those of the south-west and south-east. In the direction of the returns, this Friday day will be particularly difficult for traffic on the Mediterranean coast as in the Hérault, Aude, or the Gard.
Saturday, busiest day
Saturday August 8, France sees orange, see red again in the south-east of the hexagon. In the direction of departures, 16 departments are classified in red such as Drôme, Vaucluse or Lozère. Same story in the direction of returns, with an orange France, tinged with red, still on the Mediterranean coast.
Bison Futé recommends leaving the Paris region before 8 am in the direction of departures, and to avoid the A9 between Orange and Perpignan from 8 am to 5 pm. Regarding returns, it is advisable to avoid the Marseille – Lyon axis of the A7 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., and the Bordeaux – Niort section from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday August 9, nothing to report in the direction of departures. Almost all of France is classified in green, except always for a few Mediterranean departments. Thus, no particular recommendation from Bison Futé for this day in the direction of departures, except to avoid the A7 during rush hour, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., and the A9 between Orange and Narbonne from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. . In the direction of returns, watch out for traffic jams! The entire territory is classified orange, with Ardèche, Drôme, Isère, Rhône and Ain in red. Avoid the A10 motorway between Bordeaux and Niort, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the A7 motorway between Salon-de-Provence and Lyon, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
