The weekend has arrived again, so it’s time to put your feet up, or put them to work. This weekend Heroes Dutch Comic Con takes place again, and quite a few editors will indeed be looking around there. Logically, some prefer to stay at home, because there is more than enough to play. I am working on LEGO-Aloy this weekend. LEGO Horizon Adventures is a very repetitive game, but it’s a LEGO game so I have to finish it anyway. Besides, the kid in me is still bothered by that LEGO humor: fantastic. My biggest hobby is playing co-op and looking exactly the same so we’re always confused as to who’s who. It gives the game a little more challenge and home peace.
Collection
Since I’m busy painting and doing odd jobs in my new room (and I secretly find Death Stranding a bit boring), I was looking for a game that I can play in peace and quiet on the Steam Deck. That’s why I started Tunic again. What a wonderfully mysterious game it still is. The unreadable language, innumerable mysteries and the fine style are still strong intact. I’m still totally behind it from 90 which I gave in 2022. The combat is just on the rough side, but not that bad. Have a nice weekend!

If you see me walking funny at Comic-Con this weekend, it’s because I’m actively avoiding spoilers for the Arcane finale. All algorithms are working against me, but I’m going to try to dive into the last three episodes of this great series completely blind. I’m still working on Dragon Age, which is now reaching a turning point. I still don’t know if I think it’s a good game, but it’s definitely holding my attention.
Killing
A two-headed mutant jumped me at full sprint in a swamp that was way too dark, so I have to recover from that for an hour, but other than that I’m still really enjoying Stalker 2. That will be true in the future, despite the bugs and flaws (fortunately fewer of them have been experienced since launch). Will I reach the magic level of dying 100 times this weekend? Most likely. In the meantime, I watch videos about Path of Exile 2 and hyped for the Early Access release in two weeks. Oh, and I’m finally getting back to playing D&D after a few months off (I have a very cute DM kid, so I forgive him). Wait, there’s also a new type of event in Pokémon Go, I need to confirm that too… Uhh, can we extend the weekend by three days?

As of last night, the Classic version of World of Warcraft has added several new guards, which means that all players start at the bottom of the ladder at level 1. This grants a wish the long awaited community and I am also joining the hype train. Vibrant zones full of players, a healthy economy and original content that is suddenly relevant again: time to see how far Night Elf Rogue and I can go in one weekend. Delicious!

An Animal Crossing-like game with Unreal graphics? That’s Aghasba Tower in a nutshell. The game has been out in Early Access form on PS5 since last week and I’m going to work on my own island this weekend. The game looks really badass and runs incredibly smooth. You turn a bulldozer’s land into an ecosystem full of flora and fauna, and at the same time create a village for additional production. I can’t wait to explore more in this game.

I (unfortunately) have to work this weekend, but short game demos will come in handy! This weekend I’m starting a demo of The Spirit of the Samurai, one that’s been out for a while, but recently popped up on my radar again. Your cute cat sideboard, unique pottery style and awesome Japanese feudal setting make this a real treat for these cold days. The game will be released soon on PC and I’m already excited!

The most expensive days of the year have arrived, and it’s not just because of Black Friday, Sinterklaas and Christmas. No, before the holidays start, I will also spend a day at Heroes Dutch Comic Con this weekend! For my state of mind, I will only be going on Sunday this edition, but I am really looking forward to it again. I might wear my Spider-Man costume (you know, that homemade costume from Homecoming), but one thing’s for sure: I’ll definitely come home with a lot of goodies. Oh yeah, and Arcane ends tomorrow. I’m not ready for that. Help. Also, the first Star Wars Outlaws expansion is out, so I’m going to be playing it this weekend. Beautiful things, so allons-y!

Metaphor ReFantazio. I have now spent over 75 hours in the game. The joy I get from it has not diminished. I have sometimes finished games where I played to the end just to finish, but not because I still find it interesting. This is not the case with Metaphor. The story, animations and gameplay loop are exactly what I, as an Altus fan, want to see from them. I must say it is more challenging than comparable games like Persona 5 Royal. I hit a few unexpected times, but that only makes the experience more enjoyable in my opinion. Have a great weekend everyone!
