Nepotism of the week

Nepotism in Hollywood has been discussed a lot in recent weeks. Sometimes it is appropriate, sometimes not at all, as in the case of Meg Ryan’s son Jack Quaid from the series Boys or Oppenheimer. As can be seen from his roles, the likeable actor has already proven several times that he can stand on his own two feet and to criticize him just because of his name is simply unfair, because he has talent to give away. That’s why his mother publicly decided on him in exactly this way stop.

Equally absurd is the criticism of James Gunn, who has now cast his brother Sean in the DCU, as expected Maxwell Lord (originally played by Pedro Pascal in the Wonder Woman duo). Here, too, it must be said that the whole criticism is a bit ridiculous, because firstly, Sean plays in all his brother’s affairs, so why deal with it now, and secondly, he is usually the last thing that would be wrong with them. The same goes for Gunn’s wife, Jennifer Holland. So…who cares?

BTS of the week

Even if you didn’t enjoy Fincher so much this year, most people agree that the battle in The Killer is one of the best scenes ever this year. Netflix has now released a video in which the creators discuss this very sequence.

Actors of the week

The strike is over, which means that Variety can once again start its “Actors on Actors” series of videos, where it puts two actors together and lets them chat about everything film for a few dozen minutes. This year’s twins did quite well, but the funniest one is definitely Cillian Murphy and Margot Robbie, i.e. the literal Barbenheimer.

Game reveal of the week

Although I was slightly disappointed with this year’s The Game Awards, a few interesting things did emerge. For example, like a new game with Matthew McConaughey, which could follow in the footsteps of the famous Mass Effect.

Game trailer of the week

Well, we’ll stay with the game trailers, because the second thing that stood out as one of the few worth paying attention to at this year’s TGA was the new trailer for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. With such a level of graphics, I’m not surprised that the game has been in development for x years.

Analysis of the week

It would probably be pointless to link the trailer for the sixth GTA here, because by this time practically the whole world has already seen it, or at least everyone who might be even remotely interested. Similar to the way Honest Trailers were eaten some time ago, it is starting to happen a little with the Pitch Meeting series, on the other hand, it must be recognized that here at least the quality bar does not fall so steeply with time, but still maintains a certain level.
