Each week, Yardbarker is monitoring the 2025 NFL Draft, scheduled for April 24-26 in Green Bay.
From running quarterbacks to versatile tight ends, here are five players we’re tracking.
Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is falling out of favor with draft experts.
Before the season, it looked like Beck would emerge as the clear No. 1 QB, but his stock may have plummeted. In his Thursday column, The Athletic’s Dan Brugler We rate highly touted prospects on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the best and 5 being the worst. He gave Beck a 4.
“There is currently no league-wide consensus on a legitimate QB1 for the 2025 draft class,” Brugler wrote. “But I don’t think it’s Beck anymore who hasn’t played like a first-round pick this season. Even his second-half comeback against Alabama wasn’t that impressive on film.”
Beck’s inability to improvise in his first six starts may give scouts pause. In Monday’s QB rankings, ESPN said: jordan reed The difference between his inside QBR (82.6, 19th in FBS) and outside QBR (49.7, 90th) is truly astounding.
Beck (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) will look to allay early concerns with a standout performance in Saturday’s road win over No. 1 Texas (6-0). The Longhorns are second in the FBS in passing yards allowed (126 YPG).
An anonymous executive is hyping Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
NFL talent evaluators feel Sanders (6-foot-2, 215 pounds) is separating himself from other QBs in the 2025 NFL Draft.
“(Sanders) has been the best for me and I’ve been impressed with his growth this year,” an NFC assistant general manager recently told Reid. “The attitude on the field has been infectious so far and it has paid off for the team this year.”
Through six starts, Sanders has a 4-2 record and is completing 72.6% of his passes for 2,018 yards, 17 touchdowns and four interceptions.
He needs to learn to throw faster. Focus on professional soccerSanders’ average throw time (2.93 seconds) is tied for 130th in the FBS (minimum 156 dropbacks). If he does so, the 22-year-old could increase his lead in the tight QB1 race.
Penn State tight end Tyler Warren is generating more buzz after a monster game.
In a 33-30 Week 3 win over Southern California, Warren tied a TE FBS record with 17 receptions. He also has 224 receiving yards and caught a TD after snapping the ball on a trick play early in the third quarter.
