AIV advice on Israel-Palestine
The Advisory Council on International Affairs today issued important advice to the government on the war in Gaza. The council believes that the Netherlands must do much more to stop the conflict. “The policy is now simply too passive,” said AIV chairman Bert Koenders in Trouw. He’s joining us tonight.
Asylum plans
Today it became clear that during the negotiations PVV and NSC reached a compromise on the asylum measures. That compromise states that there will be no emergency law, but other strict asylum measures. A government crisis seems to have been averted. Tonight, Christian Union MP Mirjam Bikker and political reporter Jorn Jonker will join us.
Jerûn donates a kidney to a stranger
Jerûn Dreves gave his kidney to a complete stranger he saw on television. With this he saved the life of René Beunders. A month ago the men went under the knife, tonight they will sit down together!
NBA season starts
The NBA season has started again! And the talent also appears to come from Dutch soil. No fewer than 4 rookies have secured a contract with American clubs. Since 2012, a Dutchman now has a chance of making an NBA debut. Former basketball player Chatilla van Grinsven will discuss these talents. And Arno Kantelberg, who trained 3 of the debutants.
Music by Thijs Boontjes
And there is music! Thijs Boontjes is on stage with us. He plays his new song: ‘Campari Soda’!
