Weddings in New York: Corona Dancing

Albany. Dancing at weddings should be allowed again from mid-March in the US state of New York, but the new regulation does not sound like exuberant fun. It says that you are only allowed to lead someone who is sitting at the same table or from the same household on the dance floor. And even then, both have to wear masks and are not allowed to leave their demarcated dance area. The close dance with the new acquaintance or an old flame is just as impossible as the run-up for the lifting figure from “Dirty Dancing”.

It is planned that weddings in New York for up to 150 guests will take place again from March 15th. The halls can only be used to 50 percent and all guests have to undergo a corona test beforehand.

Dancing with a mask and distance: New York sets up dance zones for weddings

There should be at least 3.3 square meters on the dance floor for the dance couples, which must be two meters away from the nearest dance area and other tables. Switching to another dance zone is not permitted. At the first dance of a bride and groom, others may join in, but only if they keep a distance of at least two meters.

Strict conditions also apply to the band. Those who do not wear a mask or play a wind instrument must be four meters away from the guests or shielded from them by a partition.
