The Thai transgender model, Boyd Trishada Picharat, who was previously called the “most beautiful transgender woman” in Thailand, announced her marriage to a famous businessman in a lavish wedding ceremony, according to what she posted on her Instagram account.
Media said that Boyd, 36, married Ok Fakwa Hongyuk at a ceremony last Thursday, noting that the wedding clothes took several months to work on, and cost an estimated $580,000.
The ceremony took place at a heritage hotel and restaurant owned by the Oak family, where the bride wore a traditional embroidered Peranakan wedding dress with a flower crown handmade by artisans from Ranong Province in Thailand, as well as antique jewellery.
The model became famous after she was crowned Miss Transgender in 2004.
Boyd began acting in 2013, and has starred in a number of films.
Her husband, Oak, is a member of an elite business family that led the tin mining industry in southern Thailand’s Phuket Province.
