The mini-summer of the last few days in the heart of April gives way to a more wintry setting. From hot days and unusually high temperatures for the season, we are moving into a flurry that will drop the mercury and bring snow to the mountains according to Alpha meteorologist George Tsatraphyllia
The “atmospheric river”, as he describes it, will change the weather on Friday and Saturday (19-20/4) with the main features being rain, storms, temperature drop and snow. On Sunday 21/4 a second disturbance will create milder effects in central and northern Greece.
Kolydas: Nothing extreme is foreseen
The director of EMY, Thodoris Kolidas, also mentioned the change in weather, pointing out that no extreme weather phenomena are expected.
“The temperature after the noticeable drop which is completed at the beginning of next week, will start to rise again but will not be at very high values as we had in the previous days” he writes in X.
