– It seems to be a decent week everywhere – except in Eastern Norway, says state meteorologist Eirin Walstad Ristesund to Dagbladet.
This is because the low pressure has changed path. It usually comes in from the west and hits the west country with wind and precipitation, but this week the low pressure comes from the south.
– This week there is a small shift, and the low pressure enters the Skagerrak and gives the eastern part most of the changing weather – especially from Oslo and down, she says.
Agder is also expected to get “shit weather” next week. Elsewhere in the country, the weather seems to be fine, according to the state meteorologist.
Can be expensive
East and South: – Wet and damn
This week, the changing weather hits southern Norway, and especially eastern Norway from Oslo and south.
– Those who really get shit weather are Vestfold and Agder. Here it will be wet and damn, and you have to expect changing weather with precipitation and wind. North of Oslo, conditions will be calmer, says Walstad Ristesund.
The state meteorologist says that the wind is felt in Oslo on Monday.
– Today it is just a matter of getting ready for a gale and rain on the coast. There will be a small to stiff gale right into the Oslo Fjord, and it can pull quite far in. Further north in Eastern Norway, snow is expected, she says.
There will be less rain and wind in Oslo on Tuesday, but Østfold can expect a light gale and rain.
Night to Wednesday, a new round of rain comes from the southwest, and the wind will be straight into Østfold again, where a small to stiff gale has been reported. This is more wind than you think, and it will be felt, she says.
It will rain most in Agder on Wednesday. In the afternoon there will be a short break in Eastern Norway, but then it breaks loose again on Thursday morning.
Only airport without a face mask
– Also this weekend, the weather will be worst in Eastern Norway. There will be a short break from the shitty weather on Friday morning and Saturday afternoon, but on Sunday it will be wet again.
Western Norway: – Offshore wind in Rogaland
Also in Rogaland, the weather will change for the week, but the low pressure will take the precipitation to the east.
– It will not be sunny and nice weather all week, but the eastern part of the country gets most of the bad weather, and an abnormal amount of offshore wind is expected in Rogaland. It will be quite calm wind conditions and changing showers, she says.
The weather is becoming more changeable further south in Rogaland.
– This weekend, Rogaland is characterized by low pressure both Saturday and Sunday. Vestland county will have a calmer Saturday, but it will be windy and rainy on Sunday.
Central Norway: – Nice week in Trøndelag
Periods of offshore winds are also expected in Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal.
